Our property was launched by Sun International in March 2002 as part of the development in Limpopo Province. We’re located at Plot 59 Sterkloop Roodepoort Road, Polokwane, in a Moroccan-style complex. We’ve served the area for over two decades, providing not only casino entertainment but also a hotel and family-friendly outdoor spaces.

As a Sun International operation, Meropa runs under Meropa Leisure and Entertainment (Pty) Limited. Our parent company oversees a number of South Africa’s licensed casinos, holding a notable share of the market. Wild Thingz, from day one, added family fun with aviaries and reptile displays.

Salon Privé VIP Lounge

Salon Privé stands apart, exclusively for qualifying Sun MVG members. There’s a separate entrance and access is controlled - guests must meet membership requirements to enter. Each eligible guest gets dedicated service for special requests, reservations, or competition entries.

Complimentary light snacks and drinks are laid out all day. Power outlets, private restrooms, comfy seating - all designed to keep gaming and relaxation apart. Smoking areas are featured in line with the main casino’s policy.

Jembe restaurant, right by the gaming floor, serves food from breakfast to late night, adapting to casino hours. Marimba offers table service and can be booked through hosts for a different dining experience.

Present your Sun MVG card before paying for food or drinks to ensure points are earned. Bar service is available throughout the casino, and during peak times, waitstaff bring drinks directly to gaming tables and slots.

Families can enjoy Wild Thingz outdoor park without needing to step into casino space. Separate admission applies, with discounted tickets for Sun MVG members. The park has aviaries and reptile areas, as well as interactive feeding periods. You can get tickets at the park’s own entrance.

Payment, Currency, and Winning Payouts

All activity happens in South African Rand. Buy-in and cash-outs for casino chips take place at the cashier cage - keep in mind, we don’t exchange foreign currency here, but nearby ATMs stock ZAR and bank fees are standard.

For larger chip purchases, South African law may require us to get some paperwork - source of funds declaration and valid identification. The same rule applies if your total chip buys reach certain thresholds in a single day.

Withdraw winnings at the cashier cage. Larger payments will need authorisation and proof of identity. For truly substantial payments, a cheque may be issued, with clearance taking up to five working days.

ATMs on property do not support credit card advances, so if you need more cash than you have on hand, you’re best off using your debit card or visiting local banks.

Account Setup and Membership

Join Sun MVG by giving your SA ID book/card or passport at the casino’s rewards counter. Registering requires all your contact information (address, phone, email), and your plastic card is ready to use right away.

For digital access, set up an online account with your Sun MVG card number through the Sun International portal. Personal data updates, like changing your address, must be handled in person at any Sun International rewards desk with proper ID.
